James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Bid Manager. This is a permanent role working hybrid remotely in Birmingham, Bracknell or London, your choice.

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Bid Manager to oversee their end-to-end bidding process, with a specific focus on IT bids. In this critical role, you'll collaborate closely with internal teams and Business Units to produce the highest quality bid submissions, ensuring strict adherence to formal governance processes. Security clearance or a willingness to apply will be required for this role. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
Build strong relationships and gather input from a wide variety of stakeholders, including sales, marketing, product teams, finance, legal, commercial, delivery, vendors, and third-party subcontractors.
Help determine the appropriate approach, including budget, requirements analysis, and solution design. Be actively involved with and provide support to sales throughout the customer engagement process, including the crucial qualification and requalification of bids.
Commercial Acumen: Prepare and review the commercial aspects of bids, ensuring all services are comprehensively included in the final customer price. Process Adherence & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to proposal and internal processes, with diligent risk tracking and management throughout the entire bid process.
Proactive Escalation: Proactively escalate issues to the management team when required and in good time, ideally with a suggested course of action.
Bid Campaign Management: Support Sales with bid campaign management from opportunity identification through to project delivery/transition, adhering to internal governance procedures, reviews, and legal constraints.
Provide feedback and ideas to management for improvement.
Content Harvesting: Help with the continual improvement of bid content by regularly harvesting text from completed bids and recirculating it into the central repository for the benefit of others.
Central Repository Management: Ensure all completed bids are placed in the central repository used by the team for easy access.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to rewrite content from contributors where necessary to ensure clarity and impact.
You should be adept at proactively identifying areas of improvement, including gap analysis and the identification of weak responses.
Strong ability to contribute to written proposals and presentation material, both in terms of content accuracy and professional presentation (e.g., preparing compelling management summaries).
