Location: County Durham (DH7) Start Date: ASAP / Negotiable Pay: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) A supportive and inclusive primary school in the DH7 area of County Durham is seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team. This is a full-time role, ideally suited to an enthusiastic and experienced individual who is committed to supporting young learners and helping them reach their full potential. Role Responsibilities: Provide support to the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities in KS1 Deliver targeted interventions and provide one-to-one support as required Support pupils with varying needs, promoting engagement and positive behaviour Prepare learning materials and help maintain a stimulating classroom environment Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies where necessary Essential Requirements: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Previous experience supporting children in a Key Stage 1 setting A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics approaches (e.g. Read Write Inc. or Letters and Sounds) Strong communication and interpersonal skills A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Legal right to work in the UK What We Offer: Support from a dedicated recruitment consultant throughout your placement Opportunities for CPD and career development The chance to secure a long-term or permanent role within a welcoming school community Competitive daily rates, paid weekly If you are passionate about making a difference in the classroom and meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you.
