We've a fantastic new opportunity of Fleet Manager. Sitting in our Human Resources team, the Fleet Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the company’s fleet, including commercial vehicles, company cars and green car scheme.
Responsibilities and Duties
Fleet Management
* Oversee the day-to-day management of the company’s fleet, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance schedules, insurance, licensing, and disposal
* Coordinate servicing, inspections, and repairs with approved suppliers, ensuring minimal downtime
* Manage company car scheme, including vehicle selection, supplier relationships, and lifecycle management
* Advise employees and management on vehicle choices, tax implications (e.g. Benefit-in-Kind), and eligibility
* Maintain accurate records of vehicle assignments, allowances, and entitlements
* Continuous review of current agreements and contracts with external partners and identify opportunities to improve the service provided
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure compliance with all relevant UK legislation (DVLA, MOT, insurance)
* Manage driver compliance, including licence checks and policy adherence
* Maintain fleet documentation and audit readiness
* Scheduling training and monitoring driver behaviour (e.g., speed, safety) to ensure safety and compliance.
Cost Control & Budgeting
* Ensuring all vehicles and drivers adhere to legal requirements
* Manage fleet budgets, including fuel, maintenance, leasing, insurance, and allowances
* Analyse costs and identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities
* Oversee fuel card usage and implement controls to reduce waste
* Ensure accurate data records for mileage claims
* Work with external partners to maximise cost opportunities
* Procure vehicles in line with business requirements
* Manage relationships with leasing companies, dealerships, and service providers
* Use fleet management systems and reporting tools for management information
* Provide regular reports on fleet performance, costs, emissions, and utilisation
* Support data-driven decision-making across the business
* Report on emissions, fuel consumption, and environmental impact of the fleet
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in fleet management
* Knowledge of UK tax implications for company cars (including Benefit-in-Kind rules)
* Understanding of EVs, sustainability practices, and green fleet initiatives
* Strong financial and analytical skills
* Excellent organisational and stakeholder management abilities
