Our client, a leading housebuilder, are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their office in Northampton. The Role As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will: Place contracts for all relevant subcontractor work on their developments * Prepare subcontract enquiries, send out for pricing and ensure that contracts are placed in line with the build programme * Produce a detailed trade specific scope of works and qualification notes for all enquiry documentation * Analyse subcontractor quotes and form a recommendation on who to appoint * Ensure standard terms and conditions are agreed with all orders/contracts placed * Manage subcontractor payments * Process stage payments to subcontractors when due * Ensure all contra charges are managed * Carry out checks for UTR status of subcontractors * Review and process variations in accordance with terms and conditions Work in partnership with other teams to ensure key dates for the build programme are achieved * Check drawings to ensure the proposals are practical and commercially viable * Regularly attend project meetings on site * Provide cost advice for the sales team Produce regular reporting * Compile full cost reports for each development, to include services, materials, sub-contract and prelim costs Skills and Qualifications * Strong experience in a similar surveying role within a residential house builder * Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail * Great team player * Good communication skills * Organised and able to work well in a busy team
