Are you a dedicated Study Skills Mentor passionate about helping students achieve their academic potential? Randstad Student Support is seeking experienced one-on-one Study Skills Support Workers to assist students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) in Dundee. Make a difference in students' educational journeys! This hybrid role offers flexibility for both in-person and online sessions, tailored to student preferences. Starting as soon as possible.

Job Summary

Provide personalized learning support to students with SpLDs, both in-person and online. Develop individual learning plans, build on strengths, and enhance organizational and time management skills. This includes developing individual learning plans to foster independence, building on strengths and effective learning strategies, enhancing organization and time management skills, creating action plans to stay on track, improving research and comprehension skills. Experience assisting students with Autism is a significant advantage.


Job Type

Hybrid (In-person and Online)


Requirements

Teaching or tutoring experience, or in-depth knowledge of learning difficulties is essential. Ability to manage a caseload of students. Addressing student needs on a case-by-case basis while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality is essential.


Qualification/Education

Relevant qualifications and/or experience in education or working with students with SpLDs are preferred. Relevant professional body memberships (PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE, DG) are desirable.


Experience

Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties is desirable. Experience in teaching or tutoring is essential.


Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to identify ways of helping students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship. Punctuality, reliability, and good organizational skills are essential.
