The role
As an Electrical Fitter within our Estates Maintenance team, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of maintaining and enhancing critical infrastructure that supports the Royal Navy’s operations. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems across our sites. From diagnosing faults to carrying out essential repairs, your work will directly impact operational readiness and public safety.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Investigating and diagnosing electrical faults across site infrastructure
2. Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of electrical systems
3. Identifying defects and performing timely repairs
4. Working to required electrical regulations and safety standards
5. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and maintenance documentation
This role is full time, 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday, 07:15 to 16:45 and is based on site at HMNB Clyde Faslane or RNAD Coulport.
Essential experience of the Electrical Fitter
6. Proven experience in electrical fitting or maintenance within an industrial or commercial setting
7. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
8. Strong awareness of health and safety practices
9. Experience working from statements of work and risk assessments
10. Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter
11. Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
12. Qualified to SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (e.g., NVQ3, City & Guilds, HNC)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
