Job Title: Financial Controller

Overview:
We are a dynamic and growing £10m turnover recruitment business based in London, seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Financial Controller (FC). This is a top-to-bottom FC role suited to someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also influencing at a senior level. You will lead on all aspects of finance, take ownership of reporting, and be a key business partner to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full ownership of the day-to-day finance function, including management of month-end and year-end processes.
* Lead in reporting, analysis, and presenting financial data to the board and stakeholders.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary.
* Oversight of cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
* Manage statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
* Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
* Partner with department heads to provide commercial insight and support strategic decision-making.
* Identify areas for efficiency improvements and lead on financial systems/process enhancements.
* Manage and mentor a small finance team (if applicable).
About You:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) - essential.
* Experience in a recruitment or professional services environment - a must.
* Strong technical accounting background with a commercial mindset.
* Confident presenting data and insights to senior stakeholders.
* Comfortable operating in a standalone or small-team setting.
* Proficient in Excel and financial systems, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and solutions-oriented.
