As part of their continued investment for growth in the UK market, they are now looking to appoint a Technical Services Manager to lead the Technical Team, with potential for growth and development within the company.
The Role
As a member of the Senior Team, working alongside the Group Central Technical function, the Technical Services Manager will oversee the company’s UK responsibilities regarding product safety, quality, legality, and authenticity.
This pivotal role involves direct liaison with customers’ technical teams and suppliers, ensuring the highest levels of service to differentiate from competitors. Responsibilities include managing specifications, audit questionnaires, gap analysis, customer site visits, maintaining BRC and HACCP standards, food labelling, ERP system management, horizon scanning, shelf-life extensions, traceability, handling customer complaints, and promoting Food Safety Culture.
You will manage two direct reports, overseeing their training and development. You will also be encouraged to explore projects and initiatives for process improvements, with full business support.
This is an office-based position at the Norwich head office, with some homeworking flexibility, involving UK and international travel.
About You
You should have a degree (or HND equivalent) in a food-related discipline, with at least 5 years’ experience in a technical role within a BRC-accredited food manufacturing environment in the UK or Ireland. You should be familiar with supply requirements for major grocery retailers and food manufacturers, including compliance standards and codes of practice. Strong organisational skills, a personable approach, and relationship-building abilities are essential. You must be proactive, decision-driven, and possess a full, clean driving license.
