This is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated Bookkeeper to join a friendly and growing team. Candidates will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a range of clients, using cloud-based and desktop accounting software. This role suits someone confident in working independently, meeting deadlines, and supporting wider client accounting needs.
Bookkeeper Job Overview
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients across various sectors
Process and reconcile sales, purchases, bank transactions, and journals using cloud and desktop software
Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
Liaise directly with clients to request and clarify financial information
Support accountants with year-end preparation and management reporting as needed
Ensure all work is completed within set deadlines and to a high standard
Manage your own workload independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Stay up to date with changes in bookkeeping regulations and accounting software tools
Bookkeeper Job Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper within a practice or similar environment
Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks
Familiarity with Sage Line 50 is advantageous
Confident managing multiple clients and deadlines
Able to work independently and use initiative
Ideally based within commuting distance of the office
Bookkeeper Salary & Benefits
Salary: £22,600 - £27,500 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:30am-5:15pm Mon-Thu, 8:30am-4:30pm Fri (with 1-hour lunch)
Hybrid working: Minimum 3 days in office
Holiday: 20 days annual leave + 3 days Christmas shutdown + bank holidays
Monthly lunch on the last working day and 2 social events per year
