KS1 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for a Child with SpLD Start Date: Monday 13th April (after the Easter break) Location: Blackpool (FY1) Employer: Teaching Personnel Teaching Personnel are seeking a compassionate and dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) within a welcoming primary school in Preston. Role Overview As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will support a KS1 pupil who requires tailored, structured and nurturing guidance throughout the school day. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, your responsibilities will include: Delivering individualised learning support, particularly in early literacy and numeracy Using multi‑sensory and scaffolded teaching strategies suitable for SpLD Promoting the child's confidence, independence and emotional well‑being Supporting the pupil to access classroom activities at their own pace Following the child’s IEP and intervention plans Contributing to ongoing assessments and progress reviews What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will be: Patient, calm and able to build strong, trusting relationships Motivated to support children with additional learning needs Confident adapting tasks and breaking down learning into manageable steps A good communicator who can work collaboratively with staff and parents Experienced in supporting SEN pupils (desirable but not essential) Positive, reliable and enthusiastic about helping young learners succeed What Teaching Personnel Offer Competitive daily pay, paid weekly Access to free and subsidised CPD, including SEN-specific training Continuous support from your dedicated consultant A welcoming school environment committed to pupil success All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
