An exciting opportunity has arisen to join UHDB outpatient Therapy Team The role is a part-time at 30 hours per week, covering maternity leave for 12 months. This is a static band 6 post in the hand therapy team based at Queens Hospital Burton and is open for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist to apply.
You must have experience in treating acute hand therapy referrals following trauma, degenerative conditions and post hand surgery. The team see adults and children, works alongside the consultants at Queens Hospital Burton, and works with the hands Specialists both at Derby & Burton.
You will be supported with training, regular clinical supervision, be encouraged to contribute to service development and clinical audit, and be part of the wider dynamic and innovative Musculoskeletal & rheumatology team
The end date for this secondment/fixed term post will be 31st October 2026.
Main duties of the job
Senior Hand therapist Occupational Therapist
* Manage, plan & prioritise patient care and own caseload
* Provide specialist assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment for a variety of hand conditions, post operatively, post fracture, degenerative conditions and post trauma.
* Work with the hand therapy & therapy admin team, fracture clinic and orthopaedic MDT
* Provide support to band 5 / students and assistants
* Support training and service development
