At East Suffolk Services, we proudly deliver a wide range of essential local services that support the lives of over a quarter of a million residents and thousands of businesses across our district. We are looking for two motivated and customer focused individuals to join our team as a Customer Services Officer. One on a permanent basis and one on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is more than a traditional customer services role. You’ll be at the heart of delivering an excellent customer experience while also supporting our growing commercial services. You’ll handle enquiries, build strong relationships with customers and partners, and identify opportunities to promote our services. We’re a new, growing organisation — full of energy, ambition, and purpose. As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in helping us shape high-quality, efficient services that people rely on every single day. Your role: You will be the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries across phone, email and digital channels, always delivering a high standard of customer service. Alongside responding to enquiries, you’ll take a proactive approach to promoting our services – identifying customer needs, highlighting relevant options, and helping to convert enquiries into sales, increasing service uptake and generating income. You will build strong relationships with both new and existing customers, supporting them throughout their journey and encouraging ongoing use of our services. Working closely with council customer service teams you will help to ensure a seamless, joined up experience for customers while supporting the objectives of both organisations. You will also maintain accurate records, update internal systems, and ensure compliance with GDPR guidelines. What you will need: You will be highly organised, adaptable and confident in managing multiple tasks, with experience in a customer service or customer facing role. You will have strong communication and relationship building skills, along with a positive, proactive approach to your work. You should be confident in handling a variety of enquiries, resolving issues effectively and identifying opportunities to promote services. A commercial mindset is important, with the ability to balance excellent customer service alongside achieving targets or outcomes. You will also have good IT sills, be comfortable using systems and have an understanding of GDPR and basic compliance requirements. Do you have the skills, experience, or potential to succeed in this role? If so, we’d love to hear from you. Thinking of joining us? Here’s why you should: At East Suffolk Services, we truly value our employees. We understand that the backbone of any company’s success will always be its people and that our continued success depends on recognising talented individuals, supporting their development, and retaining them within our organisation.
