Our oversubscribed school provisional is recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary in-house therapy team (MDT) including Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, led by our Head of Therapy. To join our team, you must have a BSc Hons Psychology degree accredited by the British Psychological Society and experience of working with young people with autism. The Therapy Team work with children and young people aged 4-19 years old who have a diagnosis of Autism as well as our adult services programme. We offer a collaborative and integrated approach to therapeutic input for both our students and our adults living in the community. A day in the life of an Assistant Psychologist would include: * Undertaking a range of assessments and interventions related to a persons’ education, behaviour, social or emotional health needs. * Supporting and enhance the psychological care of students at Portfield School * Providing psychological and functional assessment, analysis and interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. * Assisting in clinically related administration. * Delivering clinical interventions as required, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. * Contributing to an evidence based behaviour support service that meets the psychological needs of the students, within a Positive Behaviour Model. * Working in close collaboration with classroom teams, as well as the other members of the MDT, in order to provide integrated support. * Promoting expertise and best practice through training, modelling and staff coaching of school staff and the Positive Behaviour Support Team as required. * Attending student reviews or other relevant meetings when required. * Weekly clinical supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.
