The role
As a Senior Development Triage Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in Babcock’s Digital Solutions business, a team dedicated to providing information management and digital services that enable through‑life engineering support for the Royal Navy’s most complex maritime assets.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage the intake, triage and prioritisation of service‑driven incidents, applying analytical insight to strengthen system reliability and prevent reoccurring issues. You’ll collaborate with development, testing, service and project teams, gaining significant visibility across the business and developing deep technical knowledge.
1. Manage intake, triage, and tracking resolutions of service driven incidents across multiple applications and technology stacks.
2. As part of the software development team, you will be the primary interface between Service, Development, Test, Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure effective prioritisation and deployment.
3. Validate incident details and allocate issues to the correct development and test teams, escalating high‑impact cases where required.
4. Build deep functional knowledge to support accurate triage and root‑cause analysis to ensure correct allocation.
5. Identify recurring incident patterns and implement improvements that reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days in the office/onsite.
Essential experience of the Senior Development Triage Analyst
6. Experience in incident triage, operational support or cross‑functional software development.
7. Familiarity with multiple applications and understanding of SDLC, defect management and deployment processes.
8. Proven background working with Development, Test and Service in cross‑functional teams.
9. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and perform root‑cause analysis.
10. Experience with tools such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps or SharePoint.
Qualifications for the Senior Development Triage Analyst
11. Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or relevant experience
12. Formal training or working knowledge of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies
