AECOM is seeking a Water Group Director to lead our Water business across New Zealand. This is your chance to drive impactful change in a role that balances client engagement, project oversight, and team leadership.
Balancing the world’s need for safe, reliable water with protecting this critical natural resource for the future requires a deep understanding of interconnected systems.
We work with clients across the entire project life cycle — from initial planning studies through final construction and operations and maintenance services — on both traditional and alternative project‑delivery options (design‑build, public‑private partnerships and financing).
With a robust design and construction division, AECOM offers a unique perspective on designing projects that are fully constructible.
We have a unique leadership opportunity to join our Water Line of Business as a Group Director. Inspiring our industry leading and highly motivated team of Water and Geotechnical professionals in delivering critical diverse Water projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and internationally.
What you’ll do
* Project Oversight: Lead a diverse portfolio of water and geotechnical projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceed client expectations.
* People & Internal Initiatives: Inspire and develop your team, fostering a collaborative culture that prioritizes growth and excellence.
* Continue to drive AECOM’s reputation as a leading consultant on Water projects, solving clients’ most complex challenges and providing exceptional service.
* Engage with current and prospective clients to build effective relationships resulting in revenue growth and deepening trust.
* Model collaborative cultural behaviours, drive innovation, build psychological safety and allow colleagues to bring their full selves to work.
What we’re looking for
* A proven leader with a strong background in water and geotechnical engineering.
* Excellent client management skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
* Focus on team development and internal collaboration to drive success.
* A visionary mindset to help shape the future of our water and geotechnical business across New Zealand.
* Extensive experience leading business performance and owning a P&L across a broad range of projects, with a record of delivering strong business results.
* Track record in building high-performing teams, an architect for change, expanding capability and capacity while driving flawless execution.
* Collaborative and influential leadership, building relationships with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders, and contributing to the regional Leadership team.
* Forward-thinking adaptability to implement cutting‑edge digital technology and tackle the ever-changing nature of our business.
