We are seeking an experienced Platform Technical Architect to join a high-performing consulting team, driving the design and delivery of cutting-edge digital platforms for enterprise customers. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions across some of the UK's most important sectors. As a Platform Technical Architect, you will: Lead technical design and delivery of modern digital service platforms, with a focus on automation, scalability, and security. Act as a trusted consultant to senior stakeholders, advising on architecture, non-functional requirements, estimation, and technology strategy. Provide technical leadership across multi-skilled teams (engineering, testing, DevOps, security), ensuring solutions are high-quality and production-ready. Embed DevOps culture and practices, promoting continuous improvement and modern agile delivery methods. Mentor, coach, and develop engineers and junior architects, acting as a role model within the team. Apply hands-on expertise where needed in cloud, CI/CD, IaC, and containerisation to solve challenging technical problems. A successful Platform Technical Architect will have: A strong consulting background, with proven experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions in public sector, defence, or public health environments. Deep expertise in public cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), including SaaS and PaaS offerings. Strong technical leadership skills, with a track record of leading teams to deliver complex projects in agile environments. Experience in designing, building, automating, and operating secure, modern service platforms in production. Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tooling (e.g. Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Containerisation and orchestration expertise (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker ). Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery practices. Scripting or coding experience in at least one language (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, Groovy). Eligibility for SC Clearance (mandatory due to client requirements). Desirable: Public cloud certifications (AWS/Azure). Certifications in Kubernetes (CKAD, CKA). Experience of cloud-native tooling and approaches. Active contribution to internal/external technical communities.
