Behaviour and Pastoral Support Mentor

Collis Primary School is looking for a full-time Behaviour and Pastoral Support Mentor to start in Summer Term 2026.

We are seeking to appoint a skilled and compassionate Behaviour and Pastoral Support Support Mentor to enhance our support for pupils across the school. This role focuses on helping children to manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and fully access learning, ensuring a calm and purposeful environment from EYFS through to Year 6.

The successful candidate will work flexibly across classes and phases, providing timely support to pupils and staff. They will build strong, positive relationships with children, offering guidance and reassurance, and using effective strategies to support pupils when they need additional help to regulate and re-engage with learning. A calm, confident and approachable presence is essential, alongside the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high expectations and consistency.

This is a key pastoral role within the school, working closely with senior leaders and the wider team to ensure that all pupils feel supported, included and ready to learn. The role includes mentoring and supporting pupils who may feel anxious, overwhelmed or unsettled, helping them to make positive choices and develop confidence and resilience over time.

Collis Primary School is a forward thinking, optimistic and Outstanding school, including a nursery, in the heart of Teddington with nearly 700 pupils. In September 2021 our new £6 million building project was completed with fabulous new facilities and extensive sports grounds. Interviews will take place during the week commencing 20th April or 27th April.
