We are currently recruiting for a Factory Hygiene Team Leader at our potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire.
As the Factory Hygiene Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing hygiene operations within the facility. You will lead a small team in ensuring that all areas of production are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Shift & Hours of work: Monday to Friday, working 08:00hrs to 16:30hrs
Salary: £13.99 per hour
Responsibilities
o Manage a small Hygiene team to ensure all internal areas of the site are kept to a high standard. These standards will be explained thoroughly during factory walks with members of the senior team.
o Plan training requirements for all staff within the hygiene team and ensure training is carried out and recorded properly.
o Ensure there is sufficient cover across the hygiene teams when staff are absent or on annual leave. Develop and maintain a multi skilled team to ensure cover across all aspects of the hygiene tasks.
o Report incidents and situations potentially hazardous to the health and safety of personnel and equipment that are brought to your attention to senior management.
o Control the stock of all cleaning materials, placing orders with suppliers when required.
o Control monthly spending to stay with budgetary constraints.
o Ensure Washer barrel hygiene is maintained to a high standard - each washer in use should be cleaned at least daily.
o Ensure Hygiene Schedules are signed off by Hygiene and Production staff correctly and are filed properly.
o Liaise closely with the Production Team in relation to cleaning of production lines to ensure they are done in a timely manner which does not delay production.
o Ensure hygiene audits are carried out and documented regularly.
o Report any relevant personnel issues to HR. (Staff leaving site early/Sickness etc).
o Attend meetings when required.
o Create/update SOPs when required.
o Report issues relating to plant equipment to engineering such as spillage points of potatoes and/or water. Faulty equipment or potential H&S hazards.
* Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role in a hygiene or cleaning capacity, preferably within food production.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and hygiene practices in a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
* Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to maintaining the highest hygiene standards.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate to all levels of staff
* Must be able to use computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as other business management systems.
