The suitable candidate must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends. Duties And Responsibilities To work under the supervision of qualified physiotherapy staff, to undertake a variety of tasks (clinical and non-clinical), to support the delivery of physiotherapy to patients. To work in a ward-based setting, assisting patients to complete their treatment, teaching and correcting, when necessary, individually and in groups, and to prepare the environment and equipment. To maintain stock and equipment including reordering. Other Duties Include To work under the day-to-day supervision and direction of qualified physiotherapy staff implementing specific tasks for an individual or group of patients, as part of their treatment and rehabilitation programmes To assist qualified staff in the treatment of heavily dependent patients, through rehabilitation handling skills or using hoists, patient handling equipment, etc. To demonstrate developed coordination and patient handling and rehabilitation skills through clinical teaching and observation /competencies, to be acquired over a period of clinical working with physiotherapists Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. To be involved with the MDT treatment plans for individual patients and through communication with physiotherapists, assist in discharge planning. To be responsible for maintaining up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with professional and Trust standards of practice. To prepare the treatment area and tidying up after use, including the disposal of soiled linen and the cleaning of equipment. To include both inpatient areas and outpatient departments.
