Transaction Advisory Consultant – London (Travel: Yes, Career Level: 9)
Role Overview
We are looking for a Transaction Advisory Consultant with experience supporting pre and post deal engagements in a consulting environment. The Transaction Advisory team supports corporate and Private Equity clients across the deal lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Support successful strategy engagements addressing our clients’ business challenges, delivering last‑standing and distinctive outcomes and value in disciplines such as
o Corporate and Business Strategy
o Private Equity Value creation (portfolio company assessments)
o Mergers & Acquisitions
+ Portfolio strategy
+ Target screening
+ Pre‑deal assessment / due diligence
+ Post‑deal merger integration planning
+ Joint ventures or divestiture/carve‑out strategy and planning
* Work within multinational teams on client‑facing projects or programme workstreams: developing business cases, performing cost optimisation, assessing strategic and investment opportunities, or defining digital solutions.
* Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn by proactively supporting development of insights in new industries, deal contexts, and analytical approaches.
* Quickly assimilate feedback and insights from senior leaders, clients and multidisciplinary teams to continuously enhance impact and outcomes.
* Learn and apply appropriate methods and procedures for each assignment and use your judgement to deliver solutions in alignment with the agreed strategic direction.
* Support business development activities including opportunity identification/qualification and proposal development/presentation.
* Support practice/community building efforts such as training activities, developing offerings, assets, capabilities and relevant thought leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience at a top‑tier or boutique consulting firm, Big 4 or through an in‑house consulting / business development role (e.g. Group Strategy, Group Corporate Development).
* Experience across multiple areas of the M&A lifecycle (commercial/IT/operational due diligence, merger integration, carve‑outs).
* Ability to lead individual workstreams on M&A engagements for clients/stakeholders.
* Analytical mindset and ability to frame hypothesis and adopt recognised strategy frameworks and techniques in the problems you are trying to solve.
* Experience of research, quantitative analysis and leveraging GenAI tools to streamline pre‑ and post‑deal M&A workflow.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in supporting delivery of reports and presentations to senior corporate and Private Equity clients.
