Job Title:
Cafe Coordinator
Reports to:
Team Leader
Hours of work:
Part Time (18.75 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu planning with an emphasis on healthy food options
2. Deliver freshly cooked, nutritional and affordable food menus
3. Prepare menus within budget
4. High levels of kitchen hygiene
5. Create a customer focused environment both in the kitchen and front of house
6. Control stock levels and orders
7. Management of daily reconciliations
8. Maintain accurate daily records as required for environmental health checks
9. Develop a food safety management system
10. Ensure all areas of the café fully comply with environmental standards and food safety
11. Develop and maintain HACCP
12. Encourage and develop community groups and activities
13. Liaise with the Café Volunteer Coordinator (CVC) and support with supervision of volunteers in line with the needs of the café
14. Support with the delivery of volunteer training and inductions
15. Maintain and develop excellent relationships with St Basils volunteers
16. Coordinate and support on the ground events alongside the CVC
17. Maintain, develop and build relationships with any third parties supporting St Basils (i.e., corporate partners; event hosts; local authority bodies etc.)
18. Fulfil any relevant administrative tasks, including volunteer expenses, in the absence of the CVC
19. Support with the creation of Volunteer Policies, alongside the CVC
20. Report on volunteering activities in the CVC’s absence
21. Manage the volunteers’ rota in the CVC’s absence
Qualifications:
* L3 CIEH Food Safety & Catering or equivalent
Role Experience:
* Experience of running and managing a food/catering establishment
* Experience of developing and working in partnerships
* Devising rotas
* Experience in recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing a volunteer workforce
Knowledge:
* Food safety
* Preparation of food
* Creating menus
* Customer Services/Hospitality
* A good understanding of volunteer management and motivation
