We are looking for a Recruitment Support Officer to join our team on a temporary basis until 31 March 2026.

In this role, you will provide a comprehensive recruitment support service across the council, ensuring all recruitment and onboarding activity is managed efficiently and effectively to support candidate and lead officer experience.

You will have the ability to work flexibly from your home and from our modern office accommodation in Green Lane, Spennymoor.

WHAT IS INVOLVED

As a Recruitment Support Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting our recruitment processes, ensuring a seamless experience for both hiring managers and candidates.

You will coordinate recruitment activities, including shortlisting, interviews, and maintain communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the process. You will manage candidate pre-employment checks, ensuring compliance with recruitment and selection policies and relevant employment law regulations. You will issue all conditional offer letters, and support with the onboarding process.

WHAT WILL I NEED

You will need a level 2 qualification paired with experience of administrative support.

We are looking for somebody with excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, whilst multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. You must be confident in using your own initiative, and able to maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.

HYBRID WORKING

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
