This is an exciting opportunity for a Development Surveyor to join the UK's largest independent forecourt operator. With approximately 1200 sites offering customers a growing dual-fuel strategy, a versatile valeting offer and a convenient retail and 'food to go' portfolio.
Our client, with whom we are working exclusively on this search, has recently acquired more than 300 forecourts (including fuel, convenience retail kiosk and ancillary services) and more than 400 associated sites, across the UK, for Ultra-Rapid electric vehicle ("EV") charging development.
The pipeline of work for the incoming Development Surveyor is, therefore, very exciting.
This is a key strategic role to actively drive forward the development pipeline of the portfolio to improve existing stations. Reporting directly to the Property Director, you will be responsible for identifying development opportunities, progressing sites through planning and have an overarching responsibility for site delivery from inception to completion. The role focuses on redeveloping and modernising the existing 1,200+ forecourts.
About you
* Resilience to operate in a fast-paced environment, you will be delivery focused, have excellent development management skills and be able to demonstrate strategic understanding.
* You will possess the impact and influence necessary to effectively manage internal and external relationships.
* You should also possess a proven track record in development delivery and be effective at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proven track record in delivering development projects including broad understanding of the planning and construction processes.
* Estates or asset management experience preferred.
* PFS experience preferred, but not essential.
* Experience with cost control and value engineering required.
* Full clean driving license
About the role
* Manage a pipeline of 30+ Forecourt re-developments per annum
* Undertake site due diligence and development appraisal
* Securing planning permissions and dealing with planning and highways agreements
* Manage fees and scheme budgets
* Review design, value engineer projects and manage building tenders
* Co-ordinating all key consultants including solicitors, architects, planners, highways consultants and liaising with internal stakeholders and operational departments.
