We require an experienced mechanical/assembly fitter to work in a small manufacturing team to assemble and maintain bespoke road repair machinery. As part of the role you will be involved in New Machine Builds for both our own fleet and external customers, as well as helping to maintain our fleet of 25 vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable and fit for purpose. Our fleet operate all over the country, and on occasion you may be asked to travel to support a machine breakdown. Qualifications and Skills Recognised qualification or suitable experience in mechanical fitting/assembly An ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Good general knowledge of mechanical principles with a logical approach to effective fault finding and rectification Experience of using hand tools, basic marking out and drilling, light grinding and dressing. Experience of troubleshooting mechanical systems, performing preventative maintenance and working with a continuous improvement mentality. Good communication and motivational skills are required and flexibility.
