Senior Design Estimating EngineerLocation: Alloa, ScotlandMonday–Friday, 42.5 hours per weekOffice-based (Alloa) – full-time on siteWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Estimating Engineer to join our team based in Alloa, Scotland. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role supports our residential and commercial piling operations and involves responsibility for pile design, technical estimating, and client engagement.You will play a key role in managing piling enquiries, preparing competitive estimates and technical designs, and supporting projects through pre-construction and into delivery. This role requires strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively with operations, commercial teams, and clients.Key Responsibilities
o Assess incoming piling enquiries and determine suitability for estimating.
o Prepare accurate and competitive technical estimates in line with company procedures.
o Undertake pile design and produce formal design packages for projects.
o Manage multiple enquiries within the estimating team and support allocation of work.
o Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to secure projects.
o Attend pre-award, client, and scheme development meetings when required.
o Provide ongoing technical support to operations teams during project delivery.
o Assist with contract redesigns and resolve design-related issues where necessary.
o Liaise with external engineers and approving authorities when required.
o Support preparation of monthly reports including workload forecasting, risks, and opportunities.
o Contribute to maintaining high technical and professional standards across the business.
o Ensure compliance with company QA procedures and safety policies.
o Provide technical support to the regional team and contribute to departmental development.
What We’re Looking For
o Experience in piling design and estimating within the geotechnical or foundations sector.
o Knowledge of piling systems such as CFA, CHD, tubular steel, precast driven piles, restricted access piling, or retaining wall systems.
o Strong technical and analytical skills.
o Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
o Ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines effectively.
o A proactive approach to problem solving and project support.
