Responsibilities
As a Retail Security Officer you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities. Key duties include:
* Patrolling the shop floor and deterring criminal activity
* Assessing and identifying vulnerabilities, and working proactively to minimise risk
* Liaising with management and local authorities when applicable
* Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress
* Completing colleague and contractor searches in line with company policy
* Digitally reporting incidents using tablets or phones for daily activity planning
* Preparing detailed and legible incident reports to assist the client and local authorities
Location and Working Hours
Location: Wakefield
Hours: 16 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 16 Hours – WK 1 – Mon & Tues 14:00‑22:00 – WK 2 – Wed & Thu 14:00‑22:00
Compensation
Hourly Rate: £12.50
Required Experience and Qualifications
* Valid SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence
* Previous retail security experience is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided
* Ability to provide a full 5‑year work or education history for background check
* Right to work documents and recent proof of address for interview

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator with strong verbal and written reporting skills. You should be welcoming and patient with customers and able to handle conflict professionally.
