Are you passionate about helping people and making a real difference in your community? Hartshill Health Centre is looking for a friendly, organised, and proactive GP Receptionist to join our dedicated team.

As the first point of contact for our patients, youll play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, supporting clinical staff, and ensuring the smooth running of the practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a caring environment where your contribution truly matters.

Main duties of the job

As a GP Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm, professional, and helpful service at all times. Youll manage incoming calls and queries, including booking appointments, handling prescription requests, and answering general enquiries.

You will also support the clinical team by preparing patient information, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that administrative tasks such as updating details, scanning documents, and processing correspondence are completed efficiently.

Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you'll play a key role in keeping the practice running smoothly and delivering an excellent experience for our patients.

Shifts will be Tuesdays 8:00 - 13:00, Wednesdays 13:30-18:30 and Fridays 12:30-18:30

Our team includes receptionists, secretaries, managers, GPs, Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs), paramedics, nurses, summarisers, and more all working together to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

We are proud to host our Primary Care Network (PCN) within the building, with a high level of involvement in collaborative projects and services. The building also houses our Frailty Hub, providing specialist support for vulnerable patients, and South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) are stationed on the premises, creating a truly integrated healthcare environment.

Main Duties

* Greet and assist patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.
* Manage telephone calls, appointment bookings, and general enquiries promptly and accurately.
* Process prescription requests and maintain accurate patient records.
* Distribute information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community services.
* Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and practice policies.

* Ability to follow policy and procedure accurately.


Skills – Desirable

* Knowledge of medical terminology.
* Ability to manage repeat prescriptions accurately.


Qualifications – Essential

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* GCSE Mathematics and English (Grade C or above).


Qualifications – Desirable

* AMSPAR Receptionist Qualification.
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
