Exciting times are ahead at Penspen as we continue to grow our Corporate Team based in EC1. We’re expanding our exceptional Finance team are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Group Financial Controller to join them.

Purpose of Role:
The Group Financial Controller is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality financial reporting to support effective decision-making across the Group. The role has overall ownership of the statutory reporting and annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and other key stakeholders.
The role is accountable for maintaining a strong financial control environment, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and leading the implementation of new financial policies, procedures, and best practices. The Group Financial Controller will safeguard the integrity of the Group’s financial records and systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Own and lead group financial control reporting and month end close across the group.
2. Responsible for the annual group audit process and standalone statutory audit.
3. Preparation of the Group and UK financial statements and oversee preparation and filing of international financial statements
4. Oversee, cashflow, working capital and balance sheet management
5. Integrity of the control environment including balance sheet reviews, performance of key projects and adherence to key accounting standards
6. Ad-hoc analysis to support key strategic business decisions

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
10. Experience of operating in a multinational environment and working with remote teams
11. Significant exposure to project-based organisations
12. Strong appetite and passion to understand systems and data structure combined with the ability to produce insightful financial analysis
13. Comfortable operating in an a 'hands-on’ environment
14. Financial reporting experience under IFRS
15. Flexibility for travel
Qualifications:
16. ACA / CIMA qualified
