Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Contract Duration: Temporary for 3 to 6 months
Hours of Work: 8:30am-5pm
Days of Work: Monday – Friday
Work Format: Fully office based
Hourly Rate: £35,000 – £40,000 (paid hourly)
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our client on a temporary 3–6 month contract. This role will lead a small AP team while ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts payable operations and supporting process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead, support and develop a small Accounts Payable team.
2. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, expenses and payments.
3. Manage supplier accounts, resolving queries and outstanding balances.
4. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company procedures.
5. Support month-end activities, reconciliations and audit requirements.
6. Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
7. Partner with internal stakeholders to enhance finance processes and service delivery.
8. Act as the escalation point for complex AP issues.
Requirements
9. Proven Accounts Payable experience, including team management or supervisory responsibility.
10. Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
11. Track record of improving processes and driving operational efficiencies.
12. Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
13. Experience using ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
14. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
Desirable
15. Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
16. Background within manufacturing, industrial or multi-site environments.
17. AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent.
18. Exposure to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
