Job Opportunity: Lecturer Level 1
We have a full-time Lecturer Level 1, 12-month fixed-term position available for the 16 – 24 Study Programme provision at Coventry Adult Education.
The Lecturer Level 1 will be responsible for delivering a range of accredited and non-accredited qualifications. Delivery is face-to-face in a classroom environment at Southfields Old School with groups of 8-10 learners, many of whom have Educational Health and Care Plans.
The Tutor will deliver Functional Skills in Maths and/or English from Entry Level to Level 2, GCSE Maths and/or English. Delivery will be up to 3 days a week, with 2 days allocated for preparation and marking.
Tutors can discuss preferred sessions and delivery methods during interviews.
This position is open to all applicants; however, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK for at least 2 years.
This post is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory police records check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We seek an enthusiastic Lecturer Level 1 Tutor to join our Study Programme team. In collaboration with the Study Programme Manager, subject tutors, and Learning Support Assistants, you will deliver sessions to individuals or small groups, including learners with a range of special educational needs.
You will support learners with additional learning needs to enable full participation in the Study Programme.
You will maintain learner records and individual learning plans as directed by the Study Programme Manager and support young people experiencing anxiety returning to education.
You will work as part of a dynamic team to support learners in addressing educational and pastoral issues, liaising with colleagues and agencies as appropriate.
Key Requirements
1. Relevant experience of working as a tutor and supporting young people.
2. A Functional Skills/GCSE Maths and English qualification at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
3. A relevant teaching qualification at Level 4 minimum.
