Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary ongoing
Working Pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant on behalf of the Department of Finance, Crown Solicitor's Office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor or barrister to gain valuable experience working on complex litigation matters within the public sector.
The Legal Assistant will support the delivery of high-quality legal services to UK Government ministers, departments, agencies, and public bodies, with a strong focus on High Court and County Court litigation.
The role offers hands-on involvement in case preparation, legal drafting, and court processes, making it ideal for candidates looking to develop their litigation experience in a fast-paced and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
8. Manage litigation casework, including complex cases such as Hearing Loss proceedings
9. Provide detailed written and oral legal advice to clients
10. Draft pleadings and legal documentation; prepare instructions to counsel
11. Review and analyse legal documents and provide commentary
12. Instruct and liaise with counsel during consultations and hearings
13. Review large volumes of case documentation, gather evidence, and engage with witnesses and representatives
14. Prepare witnesses for civil claims and oral hearings
15. Assist with hearing preparation, including e-bundles, submissions, and follow-up actions
16. Manage and progress an individual caseload independently
17. Accurately record chargeable time in line with CSO policies
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
18. Qualified Barrister or Solicitor entitled to practise in Northern Ireland
19. Hold a valid practising certificate
Desirable Criteria
20. Experience working within a legal team providing advice and representation in litigation matters
