Orchard Children Homes are an established provider of residential care services for young people with Emotional and Behavioural needs, learning difficulties and complex needs. We are now looking for caring, resilient and determined support workers to join our teams for immediate start. Some previous relevant experience is preferred, but we would welcome applicants with transferable skills. So even if you have no experience but are passionate about working with young people or are looking or a career change we would love to hear form you. We currently have support worker vacancies across our homes in Derby, Burton -on -Trent (DE23, DE13, DE14) and Swadlincote all of which are within commutable distance from Nottingham, Burton on Trent, Derby, Mansfield. Our homes have a family feel and operate a therapeutic care model. About us At Orchard Children Homes, children and young people are at the centre of our care and homes. Currently we have children and young people with medium to long term placements, with different needs including some challenging behaviour. As a support worker you will help to promote their independence and build their self-esteem and confidence. We provide a homely environment in which young people can feel safe and cared for You will have an opportunity to gain Level 3 qualification which enables you to progress and move up the payscale as a qualified support worker We provide opportunities for progression and are invested in your development. The Support Worker role The role will include building a positive relationship, based on understanding the needs of young people in our care. Showing kindness and compassion is essential and excellent communication skills are key. To provide care and support for the young people in our homes. Using your own experience and skills and the training we provide. To build positive relationships with firm boundaries to help build confidence and self esteem and to meet their needs. Safeguarding children at all times; providing supervision and participating in activities that help develop their life skills. Attending appointments and completing necessary paperwork There are different shift patterns available: Full time roles with 2 days on with a sleep in and then 4 days off. This works out to approximately 10 shifts per month and will include some weekends. It is essential that you can commit to working on this shift pattern for full time roles. Full-time roles with 2 shifts on and 4 days off but no sleep in requirementstoo. -Part time roles where youneed to commit to 1 day per week Pat timerole with 3 shifts per week Who are we are looking for? You dont need any experience to apply, and you may have a background in something completely different like retail or office work or have transferable skills from child minding or education but as long as your passionate and keen to help improve the lives of young people in our care we want to hear from you. You must be aged 22 years or above to apply.
