JOB DESCRIPTION
POST TITLE: Senior Project Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide high quality, effective and efficient project, and programme management delivery in a progressive consultancy operating in the built environment.
To work as part of a team leading transformational projects with client teams across the private and public sector and wider stakeholders so that they are delivered on time and within budget.
To outline and then deliver your own personal and professional development plan which sees you progress against your own targets and priorities.
To be responsible for your own life/work balance by finding the working pattern that compliments your lifestyle and allows you to enjoy work.

REMUNERATION
Starting Salary £55,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work as part of the team delivering multiple projects across key clients up to a value of circa £50m.
Positively represent the business and yourself in delivering key consultant services clients.
Working as part of a team and individually to oversee the successful progress and completion of multiple projects throughout a project lifecycle.
Responsible for providing governance, monitoring and assurance across the projects assigned to this role whilst assisting with the wider programme and other team members as required
Leading discussions, liaise with contractors, consultants, and clients on a regular basis to ensure regular progress updates are shared.
Develop and manage all aspects of a project and programme including risk, issues, resource, finance and change.
Work independently on a regular basis to oversee projects and relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and all stakeholders
Work with the Principal Consultants and Directors in managing client relationships
Through learning and development bring further best practice into the consultancy taking on board latest methods of working
Attend regular internal project progress meeting actively engaging and outlining progress and challenges alike for projects. Identify and implement project solutions to challenges or project variances where they are anticipated or incurred
Positively chair a range of project meetings including those with clients and contractors. Ensure and deliver project reports and ensure meetings are effectively recorded with clear actions to Stakeholders
Assist in the development of procurement documentation for services and works and assist the procurement resource throughout any tendering period
Assist in the generation of new tenders and submissions
Travel to meetings and events, within the UK as required
Additional Responsibilities:
To carry out any other tasks as the role requires commensurate with the pay and seniority of the
role.
At all times comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions.
Contribute to improving the business and enhancing the reputation of the company by putting
forward new ideas and by implementing change when requested to do so.
Develop effective working relations with clients that drives an increase in levels of retained and
repeat appointments
Working closely with the Directors outline future plans for engagement with new clients to
increase company visibility and productivity
Degree level qualification in Construction, Project management or similar
Evidence of ongoing Professional Development
(Desirable) MSc Project Management or wider Project Management qualifications such as CRMP.
Experience
Experience of large scale development or regeneration schemes working for either the private or public sectors.
Experience of developing long term relationships with clients.
Demonstratable experience of leading specific workstreams or projects through the RIBA workstages.
Demonstrable experience of working in a public sector led environment, understanding challenges, opportunities and constraints.
Skills/Knowledge
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally
Confidence to build relationships with existing clients and new contacts alike
Strong report writing skills.
Strong knowledge of Project Planning systems such as Microsoft Project.
Strong knowledge of Excel, with good IT/keyboard skills in Word and Email.
The ability to be a strategic thinker.
Ability to prioritise, delegate and work to tight deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to develop, implement and embed policy and procedures.
Experience of working with contract forms such as NEC and/or JCT contracts
