Commercial Development Executive
Salary – Negotiable + Bonus
We are seeking a Commercial Development/Account Executive to join our established broking team in Newport. Our Newport office is a rapidly growing retail insurance broker known for supporting and succeeding with its team members. Your role will involve understanding and approaching businesses regarding their insurance needs, designing, and administering insurance solutions to protect their assets and liabilities. You will develop and retain business, utilizing a wide range of market-leading wholesale and in-house underwriters to competitively place various types of commercial insurance.
Support is provided through telemarketing services, dedicated claims handling teams, databases, account handlers, and access to leading insurance products and networks. The position offers a generous commission structure and is based in Newport.
This role provides a solid platform for servicing clients and acquiring new business, supported by an international insurance broker presence with extensive market agreements and scale.
The day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Meeting targets and plans.
* Handling new business quotations, renewals, and MTA’s, driving sales and service excellence, and maintaining the existing commercial book.
* Managing classes of insurance such as Liabilities, PI Combined, Commercial Combined, Property Owners, Cyber Liability, D&O, Fleets, Motor Trade, among others.
* Fostering a customer-focused culture emphasizing sales, customer standards, discipline, and best practices.
* Ensuring compliance with FCA regulatory requirements.
* Building long-term relationships with insurers and clients.
* Seeking the best policies for customers while protecting insurer interests.
* Prioritizing high-value activities.
* Making informed decisions based on available information.

Your experience:
