Position Overview:
As a HSE Advisor, you will work closely with the Wilton International Head of HSE and the team to continually improve Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) performance in a proactive, effective and creative way. You will be expected to develop and improve upon a robust safety culture, building strong professional relationships with colleagues, contract partners and contractors at all levels. You will establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications and systems to ensure that all responsibilities associated with HSE within Sembcorp Energy UK are adhere to and exceeded where possible. You will be actively involved in helping to deliver the site Safety Improvement Plan (SIP) and will work closely with other functions and teams to deliver HSE related improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the maintenance and continual improvement of the UK Market - Safety Management System (SMS).
Lead incident and high potential event (HPE) investigations utilising a root-cause analysis (RCA) based methodology.
Lead internal compliance audits against internal and external requirements, such as UK Market policies and procedures and industry standards, as well as legal requirements.
Develop and/or participate in the creation of Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments, DSE Assessments, Fire Risk Assessments (basic).
Carry out safety inspections / site audits and providing effective safety coaching to colleagues, contract partners and contractors to ensure that site hazards are being effectively controlled.
Track corrective / preventative actions (CAPAs) and intervene where required to ensure that actions are closed out on time and to the required standard.
Produce management reports which utilise leading and lagging indicators to track safety performance against established targets.
Provide HSE advice, support and safety coaching to all business functions.
Assist in the maintenance and quality control of entries into HSE-related safety databases.
Motivate and encourage team members, contractors and employees to meet company objectives for continuous improvement in various areas of HSE performance.
Build and utilise a professional network to ensure that all aspects of HSE performance is maintained in line with industry best practice.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, i.e. developing / producing written reports including incident investigation reports, TBTs, training presentations, audit reports, safety inspection findings reports etc.
Excellent IT Skills (extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal skills – observing, advising and coaching employees, contract partners, and contractors.
High concern for company standards and the ability to insist on these being implemented and followed.
The ability to interpret and assess the impact of legislation on Company operations is essential.

Full UK driving license required.
Essential
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor in a high hazard industry (O&G, Energy / Utilities, Port Sector, Construction Industry).
NEBOSH General Certificate/NVQ Level 5/NEBOSH Diploma
Technical or higher membership level of IOSH
Incident Investigation experience / qualification
Working knowledge of ISO45001:2018
Familiarity with wide range of HSE regulations (especially COSHH, DSEAR, Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012)
Project management / delivery experience
Excellent IT Skills (extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Internal Auditor Qualification
Occupational Hygiene Knowledge / Experience
