Description and requirements

Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an

inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.

In our Building Services team, we bring Skanska’s purpose to build for a better society to life—creating healthy workplaces, comfortable homes and efficient facilities that improve people’s lives. Through collaboration and innovation, we deliver high-quality solutions that make a lasting, positive impact for people and communities.

We're delivering nationwide facilities management, including M&E support, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance, using technology for efficient planned and reactive services.

We are looking for a Compliance Manager to join our Commercial Property Maintenance team in London.

What you'll do:

1. Lead and coordinate statutory, mandatory, and contractual compliance across sites, ensuring adherence to legislation, Skanska policies, and auditable quality standards while proactively identifying and mitigating compliance risks.
2. Support engineering, planned maintenance, reactive helpdesk, and lifecycle teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and compliant services, ensuring actions from PPMs and inspections are captured and resolved.
3. Own CAFM, asset, and data management—maintaining accurate asset records, statutory documentation, surveys, inspections, and supporting mobilisation, verification, and lifecycle planning.
4. Produce governance-ready operational, compliance, and performance reports; chair or attend stakeholder and client meetings, and drive continuous improvement through legislative insight and system enhancements.
5. Provide professional leadership and safety assurance as a Responsible/Authorised Person where appointed, identify training and competency gaps, promote safe and collaborative working, and ensure service continuity through robust handovers and cover arrangements.

What you'll bring to the role:

6. Hold an HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline and a recognised health & safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH); embed Skanska’s safety-first culture through best-practice risk management and auditable records.
7. Proven experience in a similar role; experience in commercial building services (M&E, BMS, fire and security) and operational engineering is desirable to deliver safe, sustainable client outcomes.
8. Strong IT literacy with proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with CAFM systems and producing professional reports supports Skanska’s focus on data-driven decision making and efficiency.
9. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a customer-first, flexible and collaborative approach that reflects Skanska’s values of care and teamwork.
10. Professional, organised, and detail-oriented in managing data, documentation and reporting; committed to continuous improvement and capability development in line with Skanska’s EVP.

Equal opportunities

We thrive through embracing differences, whether they be social backgrounds, ethnicity, disability, gender identity or expression, age, religion, sexual orientation and any other protected characteristic – we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and high-performing teams. We call it Naturally Skanska.

Flexible working

We welcome you to ask about flexibility at interview stage and we will explore what is possible for the role.
