Sandwell College is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Curriculum Lead for Employment & Skills to join our Adult Essential Skills team on a full-time, fixed-term contract for the academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator passionate about ESOL and vocational learning, committed to delivering high-quality, employment-focused education for learners aged 19+.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the design, planning, and delivery of ESOL Vocational and employment-focused courses for learners from Entry 3 to Level 2.
* Develop strong partnerships with employers, local job centres, and community organisations to create relevant work-based learning opportunities that enhance learners' employability and career progression.
* Provide leadership and guidance to curriculum staff, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the department.
* Oversee the development and implementation of innovative schemes of work and resources tailored to diverse learner needs.
* Monitor learner progress and implement effective support and intervention strategies using digital platforms such as ProMonitor, MS Teams and Moodle.
* Lead internal verification, standardisation, and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements.
* Support marketing, recruitment, induction activities, and employer engagement events to raise the profile of ESOL employment programmes.
* Act as a key liaison with external verifiers, awarding bodies, and quality assurance partners.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

* Significant demonstrable experience in planning, developing, and delivering outstanding ESOL teaching and learning within vocational or employment-focused programmes (Entry 3 to Level 2).
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage staff teams.
* Experience liaising with employers, job centres, and community organisations to align curriculum with regional employment needs.
* Ability to analyse learner data, track progression, and implement targeted interventions.
* Proficient IT skills including MS Teams, MS Office 365, and learning management systems.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships and support learners' career pathways.
* Understanding of funding and regulatory frameworks relating to vocational and employment education.
* Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, leading internal verification and standardisation processes.
