Overview
The Phlebotomist is an integral member of the WTWA clinical team: he/she will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing venepuncture on patients requiring blood tests. Successful candidates will contribute to the efficient performance of the phlebotomy team in the provision of services to wards and clinics. This role incorporates some cross site working between Trafford Hospital and Altrincham Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture safely and efficiently on patients requiring blood tests.
* Contribute to the efficient performance of the phlebotomy team in the provision of services to wards and clinics.
* Work across sites between Trafford Hospital and Altrincham Hospital as required.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Evidence direct patient care experience working in a health care setting.
* Ability to put patients at ease and remain calm in an emergency.
* Attention to detail to ensure positive patient identification.
* Ability to organise and prioritise duties and tasks.
* Knowledge of a range of software packages such as Hive, Microsoft Word.
* Health & Safety and Infection control awareness and how it applies to a Health Care setting.
* Self-motivated and flexible to work mornings and afternoons.
