Offer description

Seeking an individual with extensive intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) experience during spinal surgeries. You would also be able to conduct neurophysiological investigations in both outpatient & inpatient settings; performing mobile electroencephalography (EEG), somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) and nerve conduction studies for the diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel syndrome.

If you are a qualified Clinical Physiologist but do not have experience of IONM then you may be able to join our team as a Band 7 - Annex 21 Trainee. This is a 4‑year in‑house training programme which will equip you with the skills and knowledge to independently perform IONM during spinal and peripheral nerve injury surgeries. Depending on your skills and experience of IONM you may enter in year 1‑4 as appropriate.

As a guide to the level of experience and competency required, our third‑year trainees work independently performing spinal IONM and take part in the department on‑call service.

Training and Remuneration

Remuneration during the training is as follows:

* Yr 1 – 60% of the top of a Band 7
* Yr 2 – 65% of the top of a Band 7
* Yr 3 – 70% of the top of a Band 7
* Yr 4 – 75% of the top of a Band 7

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend the RNOH Stanmore for interview. Eligibility for the training programme requires an existing right to work in the UK.

This is a full‑time Band 7 role: 37.5 hours over 7 days, typically four days 8‑18:00 or three days 8:00‑21:00.

* Participating in the intraoperative Neuromonitoring on‑call service.
* Contributing to the mobile Evoked Potentials & Electroencephalography (EEG) service, where suitably qualified.

This role is patient‑facing and primarily theatre‑based. Excellent communication and team‑working skills are paramount.

* A Rewards & Recognition platform, offering opportunities to thank colleagues, send gifts, and access exclusive discounts.
