Join our team as a Tutor and make a difference!
We are looking for a passionate SEN Tutor to support young people with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, and autism through our Supported Internship program in Birmingham. As a full-time Tutor (37.5 hours/week), you will deliver education and work experience to prepare learners for employment, focusing on English, Maths, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Create engaging lessons integrating English and Math with employability skills
* Develop practical life skills for independence and community navigation
* Design innovative lessons to foster curiosity and love of learning
* Collaborate with team members to support learners and secure employment opportunities
* Deliver accredited functional skills in English and Maths
* Utilize dedicated planning time for lesson preparation and administrative tasks
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS) or Level 3 qualification with willingness for Level 5 qualification
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above
* Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and delivering functional skills up to Level 2
* Ability to meet targets and work with diverse learners
Desirable:
* Experience in delivering functional skills and working in supported internships
* Knowledge of employment-related skills and training
Personal Qualities
* Passionate about supporting young people with SEN
* Creative, flexible, positive, and resilient
* Excellent classroom and behavior management skills
Additional Information
Interviews commence w/c 31st March 2025. Candidates must provide evidence of GCSE and teaching qualifications. Salary based on experience and qualifications.
