Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Manager on behalf of our client for a Children’s Home, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
About the Role
You’ll provide more than just care—you’ll offer connection, stability, and a safe environment for children who have experienced significant trauma and abuse. Every small act—sharing meals, listening, celebrating milestones—can have a life-changing impact.
* Salary: £54,000 (dependent on experience)
* Shift Pattern: 9am–5pm (may vary for on-call)
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage day-to-day operations of Children’s Home
* Ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with OFSTED regulations
* Shape and develop your home using therapeutic approaches such as PACE
* Recruit, supervise, and develop staff to maintain a skilled, motivated team
* Uphold safeguarding standards and oversee all policies and procedures
* Prepare for and lead OFSTED inspections, ensuring homes meet or exceed expectations
* Participate in on-call duties and respond flexibly to the needs of the home
About You
* Proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding OFSTED ratings
* Experience in fit person interviews and holding OFSTED registration
* Strong knowledge of the Children’s Act, OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, compliance, Reg 44 processes, and therapeutic practices
* Firm but fair leadership style, committed to delivering high-quality care
* Open-minded, caring, and resilient
* Flexible with a willingness to take on-call responsibilities
* Passionate about staff development and nurturing environments for young people
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
* At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England), or working towards it
