The SCS1 Product Management Lead sets the strategic direction for user‑centred, scalable, interoperable products within the Synergy Shared Services Hub. They ensure the Hub delivers high‑quality, efficient, digitally enabled services across multiple government departments. The role provides senior leadership, shapes product vision and strategy, and oversees delivery of both new and live IT‑enabled services.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leadership:
Build and lead a high‑performing, multidisciplinary product team, fostering an inclusive, innovative and high‑performance culture.
* Product Strategy:
Define and own the Hub's product vision, strategy and roadmap; put in place governance and prioritisation frameworks; and ensure the Synergy Programme transitions smoothly into the Hub.
* Service Delivery:
Lead design and delivery of secure, accessible IT‑enabled services; manage live services in a SaaS environment; and drive continuous improvement using data and user insight.
* Stakeholder Engagement:
Build trusted relationships with senior cross‑government stakeholders, manage complex expectations, and represent the Hub in wider transformation initiatives.
* Commercial Management:
Maximise value from suppliers and ensure partners deliver effectively against strategic objectives.
The role requires:
Proven experience leading large‑scale product strategy and delivery, strong leadership and communication skills, and a track record of delivering user‑centred, digital services in complex multi‑department environments.
