Analytics Engineer
UK Remote with occasional travel to Office

This is an opportunity to shape a modern analytics layer from the ground up, sitting at the intersection of data engineering and business insight. You’ll be the first dedicated analytics engineering hire in a growing data function, giving you real influence over data modelling, transformation standards, and how data is consumed across the business. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across marketing, product, and operations to turn raw data into trusted, decision-ready datasets.

The Role
* Own and develop the analytics layer of the data platform, ensuring data is clean, well-structured, and business-ready
* Design, build, and maintain scalable data models using best practice transformation frameworks (e.g. dbt)
* Transform raw data into curated datasets that power dashboards, reporting, and self-serve analytics
* Work closely with a BI Analyst to define and optimise the semantic layer for business users
* Implement data testing, documentation, and governance to ensure trust and consistency in reporting
* Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to align on data definitions, metrics, and KPIs
* Continuously improve analytics workflows, including leveraging AI-enabled tools to accelerate development
Your Skills and Experience
* Strong experience in an Analytics Engineer or Data-focused role, working with modern data stacks
* Hands-on expertise with Google BigQuery
* Proven experience using dbt to build and manage transformation layers
* Solid understanding of dimensional modelling and building analytics-ready datasets (e.g. star schema)
* Experience working closely with BI tools and defining semantic layers
* Exposure to tools like Fivetran or similar for data ingestion
* Comfortable working in a scale-up environment with evolving data, systems, and processes
