Overview
We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Senior Biomedical Scientist Haematology and Training Lead. The successful applicant will perform a range of advanced healthcare science clinical activities and provides highly specialised advice within the department. You will lead a team of Healthcare Scientists and Healthcare Science Support Workers for your own work area and provide training. This post also holds additional responsibility as a Training Lead for the Department. Travel between sites as required with a primary base of Medway Maritime Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Healthcare Scientists and Healthcare Science Support Workers for your own work area and provide training.
* Take on Training Lead responsibilities for the Department, including management of registration portfolios, specialist portfolios and support for higher specialist and Masters qualifications.
* Support apprenticeships, work experience, Certificates of Expert Practice and other qualifications.
* Manage the routine work and staff rotas of the Haematology laboratory in conjunction with the other Haematology and Blood Transfusion seniors.
* Travel between sites as required; primary base Medway Maritime Hospital.
* Provide training within Haematology and ensure delivery in line with CQI and quality standards.
Requirements
* Band 7 Senior Biomedical Scientist Haematology and Training Lead or equivalent.
* Managerial responsibility for Biomedical Scientists.
* Experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion; ability to deliver training and manage portfolios and qualifications.
