Job description About the Company: We are a busy manufacturing company based in Ludlow, Shropshire supplying numerous steel products into a variety of market sectors. We are looking for a competent and responsible Health & Safety and Compliance Executive to join our team. This is a key role that supports the day-to-day operations, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all relevant health and safety regulations. Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, are essential for this role. Role Overview: The Health & Safety/Compliance Executive will report directly to the Managing Director and will be responsible for maintaining health and safety standards, managing compliance to ISO9001 & ISO45001, and supporting HR-related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in health and safety administration, with a focus on compliance, and a keen attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures. Liaise with our external H&S consultants on matters as and when required. Monitor and update risk assessments to ensure full compliance with regulations. Maintain records of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate actions are taken. Organise health and safety training for staff and management. Support regular safety audits and inspections to ensure safety protocols are effective. Assist in investigating health and safety incidents, compiling reports, and making recommendations for corrective actions. Maintain accurate documentation of health and safety activities, including training logs and audit results. Help manage PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) distribution and stock levels. Support the development of safety awareness programs and initiatives. Compliance: Develop and maintain our ISO9001 & ISO45001 management system. Conduct internal audits as required. Liaise with clients over quality issues and develop quality control improvements. Liaise with Citation our external ISO certification advisers. Key Requirements: Previous experience in health & safety & management system compliance in particular ISO9001 & ISO45001 Strong Microsoft Office skills. Keen attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. NEBOSH Certificate preferred however, for the right candidate formal training would be provided.
