Job summary

We have a new and exciting opportunity at CUH Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT department, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a band 7 post to help run NM and PET-CT with a focus on training and education.

The department has a state-of-the-art GE MI Discovery digital PET-CT scanner, soon to be installed Siemens Quadra TB PET-CT (part of Cambridge university), and currently x3 gamma cameras being replaced one to include the new GE Starguide.

The team comprises of radiographers, technologists and nurses who you will be responsible for training and with management of the rotational team through both areas along with moving forward with the Technologist Degree Apprenticeship project which we hope to get up and running by September 2027.

You will be involved in types of imaging that are not carried out anywhere else in the country and in some research instances the world. Due to our close links to the University and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, we can offer the opportunity to work with the most up to date technology and imaging protocols and be at the forefront of new research and development techniques.

You will have:

1. DCR (R)/BSc in Diagnostic Radiography and or BSc (Hons) Clinical Technology or equivalent,

2. Must have current HCPC/RCT Registration.

3. A minimum of 1 year's PET-CT experience

4. A minimum of 1 year's Nuclear Medicine experience.


Main duties of the job

.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team lead in the effective provision and service delivery of the Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT Department, along with the other Leads.

Be the Lead for Training and Education in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT

Manage rotational team

Steer the NM Technologist Degree Apprenticeship project.

You will be required to carry out a wide range of NM & PET-CT examinations and procedures, including research, working both independently and as part of our multi-disciplinary team.

A degree of flexibility and adaptability to support the service needs will be expected

To attend training courses/ study days where appropriate

Essential

* DCR (R) or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or BSc (Hons) Clinical Technology or equivalent
* Hold current Professional Registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiographer
* Certificate of competency in venesection and cannulation
