Responsibilities of our Days Care Assistant include:
* Assisting residents with personal hygiene and preparing for bed in the evening
* Completing routine welfare checks throughout the night to ensure residents are safe and well
* Supporting residents to dine and maintain good nutrition and hydration
* Encouraging residents to mobilise safely around the home with mobility aids and equipment
* Providing friendship and companionship
* Maintaining accurate records and completing documentation
* Engaging with other care professionals to promote residents' health and well-being
* Welcoming family members and assisting with enquiries
What we're looking for in our Days Care Assistant:
To succeed in this role, you should have a caring nature and a desire to make a difference. Prior experience as a Care or Support worker is desirable but not essential, as full training is provided. Our residents often have age-related conditions, health issues, mental health conditions, or disabilities that require respectful, dignified support. Patience, understanding, and respect for individual abilities are essential.
Additional Information:
This role is to cover maternity leave at Westerlands Care Village, Brough, which caters to 83 residents with various conditions, including dementia. We are seeking passionate, dedicated care professionals for several vacancies, with interviews available soon. The position offers a great work-life balance with shifts between 8am and 8pm, across a 7-day week.
