Are you ready to make an impact in the logistics industry? The Lead Commissioning Engineer plays a crucial role in TGW’s Retrofit Team, ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. As part of the retrofit teams, you will also gain experience with elements of System and Hardware Engineering and occasionally carry out minor project management duties.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with various departments to understand design requirements and conduct mathematical analyses for concept designs of materials handling machines.
2. Work with systems and hardware design teams to create functional electro-mechanical layouts and electrical panels, incorporating new technologies when needed.
3. Participate in diverse job functions, including SYEC and HWEC work, with training in both areas.
4. Define and agree on interface points and requirements with Warehouse Management System Teams.
5. Develop and test software concepts, PLC/HMI code, primarily using Siemens Step 7 and Siemens TIA Portal, and maintain revision control of PLC code libraries.
6. Document, test, and support the implementation of PLC software, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices, while providing necessary training and knowledge transfer during retrofit projects.
Qualifications
* Proven knowledge of writing and configuring PLC code, ideally using Siemens PLCs (TIA/S7), with experience in commissioning and testing automated systems.
* A solid understanding of control systems, including networking and hardware components (Profibus, Profinet, ASI, Motors, Servo Drives).
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and coordinate activities when required.
