Key Responsibilities of the BSL Communicator Provide one-to-one and group communication support for students who are Deaf or hearing impaired. Use British Sign Language (BSL) fluently to interpret lessons, instructions, and discussions. Facilitate effective communication between students, peers, and staff within the classroom and across campus. Support students' learning and independence by adapting communication methods to meet individual needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure inclusive learning. Maintain accurate records of support provided and contribute to reviews of student progress. Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required We are looking for a BSL Communicator in Hemel Hempstead who can demonstrate: Essential : A minimum of British Sign Language Level 3 qualification (Level 6 desirable). Previous experience supporting students with hearing impairments in an educational or similar setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff. The ability to remain patient, adaptable, and supportive in a busy classroom environment.
