Sensory Support Assistant Location: Leeds Type: Long Term Contract (Permanent options available) Hours: Full Time - 32.5 Hours Per Week The Role: Veritas Education are looking for sensory support assistants within the Leeds area, for both primary and SEN based settings. Veritas have a range of these roles available, across mainstream primary 1:1 TA's, to more complex support positions within special needs schools. Requirements: Previous experience supporting a range of learning and sensory needs. (Such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Asperger's, speech and language requirements) Experienced in being able to manage specific sensory requirements, across a broad spectrum of special education needs. Be able to implement appropriate support for specific sensory needs, such as touch, sound, taste, movement and body awareness. Comfortable managing children and young adults with these needs and be able to de-escalate crisis behaviour when these needs are heightened.
